j – quick jump for the console

2009

This is the greatest thing since bash completion.

type “j De” and go to Desktop Folder, or “j t” to go to your svn trunk – j remembers your most used folders and chooses the most used one. No more cd… cd .. cd x cd y again!

And its just a small bash script, living in ~/.bashrc

See for youself.. http://github.com/rupa/j/tree/master

Update: If you are on mac, you need to source your .bashrc manually. Add those lines to ~/.bash_profile

source ~/.bashrc
